Valerie Mae Browne

Artistic Director 


Valerie is a native San Diegan who graduated from UC Irvine in 2008 and moved to New York in August 2009 to further her dance career. Valerie has performed with Fresno Ballet, San Diego Ballet, Cynthia Merrill, San Diego City Ballet, California Conservatory of Dance, Ballet Arte, Once Upon A Time, La Danserie, Metropolitan Repertory Ballet, Flower Girls, and Livid Rock Band. In March of 2011 she and Rebeccah Bogue co-founded Pink Pig Ballet. In October of 2011 she co-produced, directed, and choreographed the companies premier, The Little Humpbacked Pig. Since then she premiered Jack White and the 7 Sins (March, 2012); The Little Mermaid's Maid (November 2012), and "A Night of Wepetoire" (June, 2013), Cabaret for R&J (February, 2014), Romeo and Jewliet (June 2014), The Spirits of a Summer Day (April 2015), Sylvia ou la Nymphe de Diane (August 2016), and an annual Nutcracker "In a Nutshell". In December of 2013 she also premiered two new pieces which were featered at Lincoln Center during the Meet the Artist Series for Sasha Papernik. To have the opportunity to work with such beautiful dancers, in this gorgeous city is Valerie's every dream come true. She looks forward to watching and building the future of American Liberty Ballet.


Natalia Sheptalova


Natalia Sheptalova grew up in Moscow, Russia. She trained at The Moscow State Academy of Choreography (The Bolshoi Ballet Academy), then with the Russian Academy of the Theatrical Art - GITIS. She joined The Russian National Ballet company in 2003. Her repertoire with that company included various roles in classical ballets like Swan Lake, Gizelle, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, La Bayadère, Cinderella, and Paquita. In the USA she works as a ballet teacher at American Liberty Ballet School, and at the Jewish Dance Institute in New York City. This is her fifth year performing with American Liberty Ballet, where her roles have included the Evil Queen (Jack White and the 7 Sins), and the Sugar Plum Fairy (In a Nutshell), as well as the title role in Sylvia ou la Nymphe de Diane.

Maria Meyer

Originally from Cincinnati, OH, Maria began dancing at age 5 and studied at Cincinnati Dance Academy under Tatyana Makarova. She continued studying ballet at Ohio State University where she majored in Business. She began taking classes again in New York in January 2017 at the ALB School and is very excited to be in her first year with the ALB company. She has also danced in ALB's In A Nutshell as an adult student.


Amy Miller

Amy is delighted to be working with the talented artists at ALB! Amy trained at the Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts in Torrington, CT graduating from their residency program in 2003. There she performed many of the classics including The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Paquita, La Bayadere, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle and La Sylphide Afterward, she went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a Master of Communications from Montclair State University. Amy has performed in New York with Buglisi Dance Theater in The Table of Silence Project to honor 9/11 and with Kat Wildish Performance Showcases in La Bayadere and Coppelia. This is her second year with ALB where her roles have included the Sugar Plum Fairy (Nutshell), the Rat Queen (Nutshell), as well as the title role in Jack White & The 7 Sins.

Allie Hutchins


Allie Hutchins is a freelance dancer in the NYC/NJ area. She makes her debut as a soloist in the role of Clara last year with ALB! She is also with New York Dance Project and recently performed as the "Blue Girl" in Birthday Variations by Gerald Arpino, along with new works made by Tyler Gilstrap and Larry Keigwin. She made her original debut in  American Liberty Ballet's "Giselle" as a Peasant and Willi. Last year she danced for Buggé Ballet in their Snow Scene from the Nutcracker. Allie has trained with the Bolshoi Ballet Academy's Summer Intensive, New York Dance Project, SLK Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Northwest Florida Ballet. She began dancing in Mobile AL with Mobile Ballet and Sheffield School of the Dance and assisted on tour for Tremaine Dance Conventions as a member of their National Performance Program. 

Allan McCormick

Allan has traveled extensively around the globe with various dance projects including  roles with Disney, and dancing for RuPaul, Gloria Gaynor, Jennifer Holiday and has appeared on "DANCING WITH THE STARS." He was a feature dancer on THE TONIGHT SHOW with JAY LENO, as well as CELINE DION's  show "A NEW DAY"at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas and "LE REVE" which was directed by the original director of CIRQUE DU SOLEIL. He continued to work closely under the direction of FRANCO DRAGONE and GIULIANO  PEPARINI inSTORY OF A FORT: LEGACY OF A NATION in Abu Dhabi, and has been doing choreography for benefits and galas put on by CIRQUE DU SOLEIL AND VIRGIN AIRLINES. Having just finished Broadway Cares as a guest with the "SPIDER-MAN:: TURN OFF THE DARK," Allan is one of the most sought after Master Class teachers in both Europe and North America. NYC Companies: Rachael Kosch, ASHA Dance, Jennifer Muller The Works, Berlin Calling, Convergences Theatre, Once Upon A Time, MAD. This is Allan's second year with ALB where roles have included The Spirit of The Dark (Spirits), Drossylmeyer (Nutshell), and Orion (Sylvia).

Shannon Grant


Shannon Grant has performed throughout the United States and internationally with Ballet de Printemps, City Ballet of San Diego, Ballet New England, Media City Ballet, BalaSole, Ballet Magique, David Taylor Dance Theatre, Scottish American Ballet and in the Ovation winning musical Shag With a Twist. Shannon danced in music videos for Velvet Revolver, Avenged Sevenfold, Dame Fortune and commercials and fashion shows.  She graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor’s in American Studies and holds an Associates with Honors in Business Administration.  Shannon has taught in Los Angeles and New York.  This is Shannon's 4th year with ALB where her roles have included Sugar Plum Fairy (Nutshell), Bluebird (Jack White), and Clara (In A Nutshell).

Lucia Elledge

Lucia Elledge began her dance training at Ballet Chicago, where she was a member of the Ballet Chicago Studio Company for four years. During that time, she performed numerous works by George Balanchine, including Who Cares?, Serenade, and Divertimento No. 15.   She also attended various summer intensives, including those at Miami City Ballet and Alonzo King Lines Ballet.  She moved to New York to complete a B.A. in English at Columbia University, where she performed with the Columbia Ballet Collaborative, Barnard Project, and Colab Performing Arts Collective.  She now dances with Roza Dance Company and ALB.  This is Lucia's second year with ALB, where her roles have included Candy Money and Spanish (Nutshell), Peasant and Wili (Giselle), and soloist roles in Pasta! including Water Queen, Tomato and Knife. 

Erin Quarles


Erin graduated from Goucher College in 2012 with a BA in Dance and Business Management. While at Goucher, she had the pleasure of working with guest artists Jessica Lang, Leslie Seiters and Rodger Belman. In the Spring of 2011 she studied abroad at the Accademia dell'Arte in Arezzo, Italy where she was able to immerse herself in the study and practice of Tarantella, Butoh, and contemporary dance. Since moving to NYC she has danced with Hanna Q Dance Company and is currently working with Julia Corrigan & Dancers. This is Erin's second year with ALB where she has performed as a soloist roles such as Spanish (Nutshell), and Persephone (Sylvia).  

Caroline O'Connor

After graduating from Boston College, where she studied ballet and majored in English, Caroline moved to New York City to pursue dance. She has performed both classical and contemporary works throughout the city . This is Caroline's second year with ALB where she has performed the roles of Arabian Attendant, Flower, Snow, and Dryad Corps. 

Erika Keller


Erika Keller began her ballet training in Germany as a part of the Royal Academy of Dance as a scholarship student in Neumarkt and Nuremberg. Returning to the U.S. she continued her training in the RAD Syllabus at the Academy of Dance Arts under Jennifer Church and as well as at the Pittsburgh Youth Ballet, Springs City Ballet and the Colorado Academy of Ballet. She has danced professionally with the Columbia City Ballet, Newcomb Ballet Company, Albano Ballet Company, Connect the Dots Dance Company, Jersey City Ballet and Dances Patrelle. This is her first year with ALB, where she has performed as the Snow Queen and Mother Ginger in Nutshell.

Raquel Beauchamp

Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Raquel began her dance studies at the age of 13 in School for the Performing Arts; concentrating in classical ballet under María Carrera and Yolanda Muñóz, jazz, hip hop, tap, and flamenco. She has performed in various works across the island and in 2011, nailed her first serious role as a dancer and singer in Cabaret Le Freak, a musical that played tribute to iconic musicals such as Cabaret, Chicago and Sweet Charity. She moved to NYC a few months after that, continued to dance in Broadway Dance Center and has trained with well known professors such as Sheila Barker and Sheryl Murakami. Since then she's acquired a BA in Photography and Graphic Design at Marymount Manhattan College, has worked at InStyle Magazine and is currently a designer and photographer at Adweek Magazine. After 2 years without dancing, she's back and determined to continue her ballet studies with American Liberty Ballet. This is her first year with the company.

Sharon Harsa


Sharon began her movement training, in Cleveland Ohio, as a gymnast and jazz dancer. Eventually her focus turned to Russian classical ballet, intensively training with Marguerite Duncan.  In addition to dancing with North Coast Ballet Theatre  for many years, she performed with Tom Evert Dance Company and Fields Ballet.  Sharon has performed in numerous ballets including Nutcracker, Sylvia, Giselle, Stars & Stripes and Romeo and Juliet.  In addition to performing, Sharon's dance experience has included teaching, directing and dance photography.  This is her 4th year with ALB.

Mako Ijich

Mako Ijichi, originally from Japan, started her training at the Akaiktu Ballet Studio. She expanded her studies at Morimoto Ballet. She joined the K'spro Company in Japan as sololist. In 2015 she entered the danae program at peri Dance Capezio Center in New York. She got working visa in 2018. Professionally She performed as core and sololist with Albano Ballet Company, Nicole colbert Dance Company, Brooklyn Opera Works and some choleographer. She also performed NYFW with Berenik. In 2018 She join American Liberty Ballet. She perform Spanish,  flower of waltz, Snow and flight attendant.This is her first year 

Erica Blake

Erica started dancing at Marygrove College where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in performance of Fine Arts. She has studied with Penny Godboldo, Homer Bryant, Kevin Thomas and Keith Lee among others as she embarked on a journey to find her place in the dance world. She is currently dancing with a local company by the name of American Liberty Ballet.

Kayla Armgardt

Kayla began dancing professionally with the New Mexico Ballet Company after training under scholarship as a dance performance major at Butler University. She also trained under scholarship at Boston Ballet and Texas Ballet Theater. An Albuquerque native, Kayla danced with New Mexico Ballet Company for 5 years where she performed many principal and soloist roles. Kayla has also performed with the Dance Theater of the Southwest, Sparrow Dance Productions, Butler Ballet, and Dances Patrelle. Kayla recently moved to NYC after graduating with her MBA from Vanderbilt University. She is very excited for her first season with the wonderful dancers of American Liberty Ballet!
